I helped two shy lonely college freshman from across the country make a new friend. I did something good today. Arn't you proud of me?

Vanessa Hudgens has such a pure voice, absolutely different caliber than Ray's Hillary Duff....not that I'm gong to go out and buy any of her CDs. I'm far too cheap for that.

She's a mix of everything - Filipino, Irish, Chinese, American Indian, Spanish....which got me thinking back to my 6th grade teacher. Mrs. Hadley was talking about diversity and that PC stuff public teachers are required to teach, and she mentioned how people used computer graphics to combine all races into one face, and it turned out to be really pretty. So there was I, sitting in my 6th grade class wondering to myself "every race came from Eve, every race is in Eve, Eve must be one hot girl...no wonder Adam wanted to live 900 years and have lots of kids."

Does Vanessa give a glimpse of what pre-Flood humans looked like? And maybe she gives a glimpse of what Americans will look like in the future? When we hit 300 million, I remember reading this article saying how we'll hit 400 million in 45 years or so, and by then there may not be a majority race, but a lot of interracial mixing. That means we'll have a pretty (and maybe pretty-sounding) population in times to come. Maybe I should marry a mixling without any Chinese blood (I'm full-blooded Chinese as far as I know) so that my kids would be even more mixed-up mixlings. Too bad I can't name any non-Chinese mixlings at the moment.

New Year Resolution Progress:

1. Be nicer and more encouraging to people, especially verbally. Often I really do care about people, but I end up teasing them more than I encourage them.

Still teasing too much

2. Healthy daily quiet-time habit

Way better. Just need to get the daily part down better.

3. Talk to everyone on my core team more often and on a regular basis

That went nowhere

4. Hit the snooze button only once per day

haha.....

5. Learn to do cartwheels

Maybe I need to lose some weight, then dream of cartwheels

6. Get at least 8 adults and 42 youths to go to ATF this year and make lasting changes!

Ended up with 7 adults and 46 youth. I do see some lasting changes!

7. Dream God-sized dreams and encourage the youth group dream these dreams too

Got the first part down, working on second part

8. Get married! (hopefully)

Only God knows.....

Next ATF in just 361 days

I just noticed I did something really dumb and embarrasing...

I want to say many thanks to Gerald, Hannah, and Kristie for coming up with a suprise bday party for me yesterday. I totally appreciated their intentions, yet the timing is unfortunate. It was Hannah and Charity's baptism, which is like once a lifetime, so didn't want some bday which happens once a year (too often in my opinion- i've stopped celebrating bdays since 12) to distract from their special day.

Yet, this is the embarrasing part, Michael's bday is closer than mine and it should be his bday celebration more than mine, so I wanted to cut the cake with him. Then i realized probably the only time two people cut a cake together is when they get married. Now no one tell my future wife I've cut a cake with someone else before....

Happy Bday Mike, Congrats on the baptism of my two little sisters, and thanks for everyone who joined us in that special day. It's all because our Lord died and rose again.
